  2024-2025  CALENDAR OF EVENTS

Due to ongoing COVID-19 Virus precautions and guidelines, please be mindful that some events have had to be adjusted to ensure we are maintaining a safe social distance and following the established guidelines.

There may be additional events and fundraisers scheduled, and these will be added to the calendar. Please contact the BIA of Illinois if you and/or your organization would like to host a fundraiser to support the BIA of Illinois.

2024 Brain Injury Educational Conference

 October 17 – 18, 2024 

The BIA of Illinois will be hosting this year’s conference in a virtual online setting (Zoom format) this fall. You will determine your seat location and the dress code for this year’s conference! The conference is open to the public. Be prepared for contest opportunities during the 2 days!

The course content will be submitted for 12 continuing education credit hours for Nursing, Social Work, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, and Professional Counselors. The conference hours can also be applied to Certified Brain Injury Specialist renewal hours. Continuing Education Hours apply only for Professional registration. An Early Registration rate is available for professionals who register on or before September 9, 2022.

Some of the topics to be addressed include:

  • Current Mild TBI Research

  • Smart Phone Based Approaches for Cognition & Daily Function after ABI

  • Agitation Management of the Patient with Traumatic Brain Injury

  • Evidence Based Review of Healthy Lifestyle after Traumatic Brain Injury

  • Neuroplasticity following Brain Injury: Overview and Updates

  • Comprehensive Review of Pharmacology after Brain Injury

  • Major Barriers to Recovery following a TBI, and Implications for Treatment

-The BIA of IL is able to offer the course in-person or via online Zoom presentation.
